Welcome!
Thanks for taking time to come and visit the website of Greater Ballyclare Youth for Christ. We hope that the pages here will help to give you a better idea of what we do.
You can receive regular updates by filling in your email address in the box on the top right of the page.
If there is anything at all that you would like more information on please do get in touch with us either by phone or email.
Youth for Christ currently employ two full time members of staff, Jonny Farrell our Centre Co-ordinator/Youth Worker and Nadine Doherty our Youth Worker. Alongside our staff we depend largely upon our volunteers, without them many of our programmes would just not be able to function!
Volunteering with Youth for Christ generally means giving up a couple of hours a week to help out in various ways, such as: making tea and toast at breakfast club, building relationships with young people at drop-in, running kids programmes, or even if you're keen helping out a couple of hours a week in our office.
If you are keen to get involved, you will need to download and complete the following two forms:
In order to volunteer you must first fill in both the GBYFC application form and an AccessNI form in order for a disclosure check to be carried out. Once you have filled in these forms, if you contact our office on 02893 323389 you can make an appointment to call down and a member of staff will help process your forms, and have a brief chat with you about volunteering (we would also ask that you bring the appropriate forms of ID for the AccessNI check - as listed on the AccessNI form - as we will make photocopies of these for AccessNI in our office.
Once your forms have been submitted, and returned clear, we will get in contact about a start date for volunteering. We also ask all our volunteers to make sure to attend the first Child Protection Training session that Youth for Christ Northern Ireland make available.
If you have any queries please do not hesitate to get in touch.
